TEAM MEMBERSHIP: EXECUTIVE LEADERSHIP QUALITY MANAGEMENT SUPPORT

Purpose: The Senior Vice President of Retail Operations is accountable for providing visionary leadership and strategic oversight for the retail sector. This role collaborates with the executive team to formulate and implement strategic initiatives while ensuring operational excellence across all retail functions. The position is pivotal in mentoring and developing team members to achieve operational goals and foster strong internal and external relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily management and performance metrics of retail outlets, donation facilities, logistics, recycling, and online sales.
  • Act as the primary representative for the division, engaging with various stakeholders and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Provide analytical leadership to enhance retail operations, driving profitability and addressing performance challenges with strategic interventions.
  • Guide the retail team in establishing and achieving both short-term and long-term operational goals.
  • Supervise managers to ensure adherence to budgetary targets for revenue and expenses.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of financial performance, developing actionable plans for improvement based on key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate with retail leadership to enhance product presentation and sales strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Administer employment decisions and organizational programs in accordance with established policies.
  • Partner with logistics and warehouse teams to meet the operational needs of retail.
  • Implement security measures to safeguard company assets and minimize losses.
  • Work closely with the COO to strategize on the expansion of retail operations.
  • Maintain current knowledge of regulations governing the sale of secondhand goods.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and committee activities as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Retail Management, or a related field, coupled with a minimum of seven years of progressive experience in retail or a similar sector. A minimum of five years in a supervisory capacity is required. Experience in thrift retail, particularly with Goodwill, is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred:
  • Comprehensive understanding of the secondhand retail market, including trends and competitive analysis.
  • Expertise in pricing strategies for pre-owned merchandise.
Work Environment: Primarily an office setting with frequent travel to retail locations. The role requires the ability to perform physical tasks associated with retail operations, including occasional lifting and mobility within various environments.
