Position Overview

As a Field Sales Executive specializing in Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM), your primary focus will be to enhance OEM sales across the designated territory, which includes Colorado, Wyoming, and eastern Montana. You will play a crucial role in aligning with branch and corporate initiatives aimed at profitable business growth. The OEM segment involves sales to any entity utilizing Simpson products in the creation or assembly of other marketable products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sales Growth: Drive demand and expand sales of all Simpson product lines within the specified marketplace. This entails prospecting, conducting sales calls, identifying opportunities, delivering presentations, providing hands-on demonstrations, and analyzing industry trends to develop effective strategies. (65%)
  • Relationship Management: Cultivate and sustain essential relationships with customers while managing supply chain interactions with channel partners. Offer ongoing training sessions, product demonstrations, and technical support to address customer needs. (15%)
  • Industry Representation: Advocate for Simpson Strong-Tie as a key industry partner and potential employer by participating in trade shows, association meetings, and educational opportunities within your territory. (10%)
  • Administrative Duties: Execute various responsibilities including CRM management, business planning, timely expense report submissions, and maintenance of company vehicles. (10%)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of relevant industry experience, with a solid understanding of OEM construction practices and distribution channels.
  • Proven sales and account management experience, demonstrating a successful track record of sales and profit growth.
  • Technical proficiency in product knowledge to serve as a trusted resource for Simpson solutions.
  • Strong presentation skills, capable of creating engaging presentations that effectively communicate value.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and innovative thinking.
  • Accountability and dependability in fulfilling commitments.
  • Adaptability to change and responsiveness to new practices.
  • Customer-focused approach to building and maintaining productive relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce CRM, and other industry-standard software.
  • A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is required.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

This role involves a mix of office settings, customer locations, and outdoor construction sites. The position may require occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs and involves frequent standing, walking, and sitting.

Travel Requirements

Domestic travel may be necessary, up to 35% of the time.
