Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Commercial Insurance Underwriting Assistant to support our underwriting team. This role involves assisting in the evaluation, quoting, and binding of new insurance submissions, as well as managing the issuance of insurance certificates and invoices for both new and renewal policies. The Underwriting Assistant will also handle renewal processes, ensuring accurate data entry for both new and renewal business, and manage change requests efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Underwriters in processing, quoting, and binding new submissions.
  • Review insurance applications and gather any missing information.
  • Issue confirmations of binding evidence and invoices for new business.
  • Perform data entry into the Quote and Policy Issuance Databases.
  • Apply changes to rates and endorsements for renewals and generate renewal quotes.
  • Process Evidence of Insurance for renewals and verify the accuracy of the information in the underwriting database.
  • Manage mortgagee changes and issue revised certificates of Evidence of Insurance to mortgagees.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Two years of experience in commercial property casualty insurance is preferred.
  • P&C license is advantageous but not essential.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong data entry and web/database search skills.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and attention to detail.
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50,000, depending on experience.
