ROLE OVERVIEW:
As the Head of Business Growth, you will lead the agency's new business initiatives. This encompasses everything from managing initial inquiries to developing proposals, overseeing RFPs, and successfully securing new clients. Your extensive experience in social strategy will empower you to excel in this role.
You will report directly to our CEO, who plays an active role in new business meetings and pitches. Collaborating with a small, agile team, including our SVP Client Service and an account coordinator, you will work cross-functionally to create compelling proposals and pitches.
This position is unique; clients are reaching out to us, shifting the focus from outbound prospecting to building consultative partnerships with inbound brands, fostering deep, long-term relationships.
In business development at Movers+Shakers, you will serve as a trusted advisor to CMOs and social media managers eager to transform their consumer connections. You will help them gain deeper insights into their challenges and craft solutions that our team can implement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead new business initiatives from initial discussions to finalized agreements, nurturing relationships throughout the process.
- Manage our inbound client pipeline, including responding to inquiries and scheduling meetings with interested parties.
- Oversee RFP processes, leading cross-functional teams to develop high-quality proposals.
- Establish and implement an outbound strategy to proactively engage potential clients and build relationships with key decision-makers.
- Collaborate with our marketing team to enhance external marketing efforts and improve the inbound process.
- Coach and mentor account teams to grow their accounts and increase revenue.
- Track and report on business development metrics, including pipeline status, conversion rates, and revenue growth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 10+ years of marketing experience, including at least 5 years in social strategy.
- Extensive background in agency new business development.
- Experience at a social media agency is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of brand building and upper funnel marketing.
- Deep knowledge of social media marketing, with a particular passion for platforms like TikTok.
- Familiarity with traditional marketing approaches still utilized by some clients.
- Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire cross-functional teams.
- Extensive client-facing experience and strong presentation abilities.
- Strategic thinker with a creative mindset, capable of identifying new revenue opportunities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, leveraging data for informed decision-making.
- Experience with CRM tools such as Salesforce.
