ABOUT US
At Aparium, we redefine hospitality. Our philosophy centers around the essence of People, Place, and Character, ensuring our hotels reflect the communities we serve. Our latest property, Populus, aims to be a vibrant social hub in downtown Denver, seamlessly integrating with the surrounding neighborhoods and offering a unique experience that honors local culture.

With a striking design and welcoming entrances, Populus is set to become a must-visit destination, featuring two distinct dining venues, a rooftop bar, and a commitment to sustainability. Managed by Aparium Hotel Group, we pride ourselves on our innovative approach to hospitality, blending the expertise of large hotel chains with the charm of boutique experiences.

WHO YOU ARE
You possess a diverse and dynamic career trajectory, transitioning from various operational roles to corporate leadership within upscale or luxury hotel brands. Your journey has led you to boutique and lifestyle brands, where your passion for hospitality thrives. You have a well-rounded background that includes experience in food and beverage, sales, and marketing. Your communication style is candid and articulate, allowing you to effectively engage with ownership groups and adapt to different stakeholders.

Familiarity with secondary markets is essential, as you understand that hospitality varies significantly across different cities and neighborhoods. You embrace a modern interpretation of luxury that is approachable and unique. Your enthusiasm for community engagement and local experiences drives your passion for the industry.

THE ROLE
The Chief Financial Officer will report to the Regional Director of Finance, overseeing the financial obligations of the hotel. This position requires both tactical and strategic thinking; if you prefer to focus solely on high-level concepts without attention to detail, this may not be the right fit. As a key member of the leadership team, you will be expected to actively engage in identifying and addressing financial needs.

Your responsibilities will include providing strategic financial leadership and insights to Operations Leaders, Partners, and Department Heads, ensuring informed business decisions. You will collaborate with various stakeholders, including ownership groups, asset managers, and financial institutions, to effectively manage the hotel's assets.

  • Collaborate with the Regional Director of Finance to create and implement financial strategies that drive growth and profitability.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial service providers.
  • Ensure the accuracy of financial records and oversee tax filings and other financial documentation.
  • Participate in monthly financial reviews and assist in presenting necessary reports.
  • Oversee on-site accounting functions to guarantee effective fiscal management and timely reporting.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including property owners and investors.
  • Recruit, train, and lead finance teams to ensure efficient financial operations.
  • Aparium Hotel Group is committed to equal opportunity and does not discriminate based on disability, veteran status, or any other protected status.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, or business operations, with a minimum of 5 years in the hospitality sector.
  • Previous experience as an Area Director of Finance or similar role is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, with a history of developing high-performing teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building productive relationships.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations, including GAAP.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting tools.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects.
LEADERSHIP STYLE
  • Engage others through effective communication, adapting your approach to connect with diverse audiences.
  • Collaborate on fact-finding missions, valuing input from others to uncover deeper insights.
  • Make decisions with integrity, maintaining confidentiality and discretion when necessary.
  • Demonstrate analytical thinking and seek factual information, expressing viewpoints without ego.
  • Exhibit business acumen and ensure financial decisions align with sales goals and budgets.
  • Identify strategic needs while also being hands-on to implement plans effectively.
