Culinary Operations Supervisor

The Culinary Operations Supervisor plays a pivotal role in assisting the restaurant manager of a dining establishment with moderate sales volume and intricate kitchen operations. This position entails the daily oversight and allocation of tasks to non-management staff, ensuring a seamless culinary experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guarantees that the kitchen is adequately staffed, maintained in cleanliness, and that inventory levels are appropriate while ensuring all equipment is functioning optimally.
- Oversees the daily functions of kitchen personnel, assigning specific tasks and responsibilities.
- Continuously reviews and updates preparation, inventory, and ordering sheets.
- Provides training and guidance to cooks and prep cooks.
- Ensures adherence to recipes and completes self-evaluation reports.
- Monitors the expediting process to ensure efficiency.
- Maintains organized storage plans for perishable goods.
- Identifies needs for hiring, promotions, or any changes in the status of kitchen staff.
Compliance and Standards:
- Adheres to company and franchise operational standards, as well as all relevant regulatory requirements, ensuring that all food products are prepared and presented according to brand specifications.
Customer Service Excellence:
- Delivers exceptional customer service consistently, ensuring that all staff are properly trained to meet customer satisfaction and uphold product quality.
Qualifications:
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required; Inter-Provincial Red Seal certification in cooking is preferred, with brand-specific certification being an advantage.
- Requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in medium volume and/or multi-unit kitchen operations; 3 years or more is preferred.
- Possesses a strong understanding of product knowledge, customer service standards, and operational requirements.
- Exhibits effective team management, delegation, conflict resolution, and coaching abilities, with a talent for motivating others and facilitating change.
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and issues simultaneously.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, including reading and comprehending instructions and policy documents.
