Role Summary:
As the Culinary Operations Assistant Manager, you will be instrumental in supporting the Culinary Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen. Your role will ensure that our food quality, preparation, and presentation consistently align with our high standards. This position offers a favorable work-life balance, as it is exclusively daytime hours. You will also assist in training and supervising kitchen personnel, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety protocols.
Key Duties:
- Assist in Kitchen Management: Help oversee daily kitchen functions, including food preparation, cooking, and plating to maintain high-quality standards.
- Leadership and Training: Guide and mentor kitchen staff, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
- Quality Assurance: Evaluate food quality and presentation, making necessary adjustments to uphold our standards.
- Inventory Oversight: Support inventory management, including ordering supplies, monitoring stock levels, and reducing waste.
- Health & Safety Standards: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Enhancing Customer Experience: Work collaboratively with front-of-house staff to address customer feedback regarding food and ensure a pleasant dining experience.
- Administrative Support: Assist with scheduling, payroll, and other administrative responsibilities as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in a kitchen management capacity or as a lead cook in a fast-casual or high-quality dining environment.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication abilities. Capable of multitasking and thriving in a fast-paced setting.
- Knowledge: Understanding of food safety regulations, kitchen equipment, and inventory management practices.
- Passion: A sincere enthusiasm for high-quality food and artisanal coffee.
- Flexibility: Availability to work daytime shifts, including weekends and holidays as necessary.
