Remote Work Opportunity. The government will facilitate the onboarding process for the selected consultant, who will subsequently undergo the necessary onboarding procedures. Access will be provided through either VPN or a Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) for practical tasks.

The role involves support for the Department of Health and Human Services - Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

US Citizenship is Mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with stakeholders and technical operation teams to analyze, develop, configure, test, integrate, and maintain all related RHEL systems.
  • Establish and uphold efficient and scalable configuration management practices, services, and baseline configurations for the RHEL platform.
  • Conduct needs assessments, gap analyses, and devise corresponding solutions for RHEL platforms.
  • Deploy, configure, and sustain patches, configurations, upgrades, and relevant documentation for RHEL platforms.
  • Diagnose, isolate, and resolve issues related to RHEL platforms.
  • Implement, manage, and audit DISA STIGs and address vulnerabilities associated with RHEL platforms and services.
  • Serve as a primary contact for providing RHEL platform support for application-related systems and services.


Essential Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Advanced problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Proficient in the exclusive use and navigation of the RHEL command line interface.
  • Comprehensive understanding of RHEL platform interactions with external applications, platforms, and services (e.g., Active Directory/LDAP integration, network file service protocols, Active Directory Certificate Services).
  • Intermediate skills in RHEL 7 and 8 platform system administration and knowledge of technology and service configurations.
  • Demonstrated experience with Ansible ad hoc and playbook executions.
  • Significant experience in developing and executing shell scripts. Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience.
