Job Overview

The Support Specialist plays a crucial role in the Assisted Housing department, providing essential administrative and clerical assistance to ensure the Tampa Housing Authority operates effectively and efficiently. This position is vital in delivering quality service to customers and partners, as well as in fulfilling reporting obligations to regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities

The Support Specialist will be responsible for:

  • Organizing and maintaining both physical and digital files, ensuring proper management of records and documentation.
  • Drafting letters, reports, and various documents as required.
  • Managing database information across multiple software applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Preparing and dispatching verification forms, annual recertification packets, and contracts in a timely manner.
  • Coordinating and conducting meetings with applicants to assist them in completing necessary forms and documentation.
  • Processing incoming mail for inspectors and distributing it appropriately.
  • Generating and sending miscellaneous correspondence, including address labels for mass mailings.
  • Providing excellent customer service by answering phone calls, greeting visitors, and addressing inquiries from residents, landlords, and the general public.
Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience: Minimum of six months in an office setting.

Skills:

  • Effective oral and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Licenses:

  • Possession of a valid Florida Driver's License.
  • Eligibility for coverage under the agency's insurance policy.
