Role Overview: Under the supervision of healthcare providers, the Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will deliver essential clinical support and nursing care to patients, adhering to established nursing standards and protocols as mandated by the state board of nursing. The LVN will actively contribute to the healthcare team by assessing patient needs, participating in care planning, and executing prescribed interventions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute nursing tasks within the Licensed Vocational Nurse scope, including procedures, injections, medication administration, EKGs, and phlebotomy, as per state regulations.
  • Assist in implementing educational strategies for patients and their families regarding common health issues.
  • Coordinate patient care as directed by healthcare providers and registered nurses, including referrals and follow-up.
  • Document patient complaints and prepare them for examinations in accordance with clinic policies.
  • Gather information on patient symptoms and relay this to the healthcare provider accurately.
  • Conduct focused nursing assessments and communicate findings to the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of patient assessments and care in medical documentation.
  • Review patient records and relevant reports prior to provider consultations and communicate important information.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant environment for patients and staff, adhering to OSHA standards.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and treat all individuals with respect and dignity.
  • Organize and maintain treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization of instruments.
  • Follow infection control protocols diligently.
  • Manage medication administration in accordance with established policies and accurately document in patient records.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current and valid State Vocational/Practical Nursing license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • IV certification may be required by the clinic.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and office procedures.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergencies.
  • Experience in performing medical procedures, injections, and phlebotomy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with patients and staff.
  • Excellent communication skills, including proper grammar and spelling.
  • Customer service-oriented approach.
  • Compliance with Tuberculosis screening and immunity documentation requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • IV certification.
  • Two or more years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.

Physical & Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to operate a company vehicle safely.
