We operate in various community-based environments, offering a diverse array of programs, including vocational and therapy initiatives, day treatments, and specialized services tailored for infants, children, adolescents, Military Service Members, and Veterans.
Position Overview:
As a Vocational Nursing Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work in a fulfilling role that supports your nursing career while engaging in a dynamic environment filled with rewarding challenges.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing essential nursing services and training to meet the medical and psychiatric needs of individuals with brain injuries, intellectual and developmental disabilities, substance use disorders, and emotional or behavioral challenges.
- Monitoring the health conditions of those we serve to ensure high-quality care.
- Administering medications, maintaining accurate documentation, and supervising staff in medication administration.
- Delivering prescribed medical treatments as per physician orders and providing personal care services.
- Conducting assessments and implementing healthcare services that align with each Individual Service Plan (ISP), responding effectively to any changes in condition.
- Training staff on critical topics such as universal precautions, infection control, and medication administration.
- Acting as a liaison and advocate among medical professionals and external agencies to coordinate services and ensure consistent treatment for individuals in care.
- Providing educational training for individuals on topics including self-medication, prescribed treatments, and health education.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should possess:
- An Associate's Degree in Nursing or a related field, or a state certification.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a nursing capacity with the population served.
- Current state LPN or LVN licensure for your state of residence.
- A valid driver's license, car registration, and auto insurance.
- Other certifications as mandated by state licensing regulations, such as CPR/FA, HIV/AIDS certification, BBP, and ACT training.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with staff, individuals served, and their families.
