Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver nursing care within the scope of a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse, including procedures, injections, medication administration, EKGs, and phlebotomy, as per state regulations.
  • Assist in executing established educational plans for patients and their families, addressing common health issues and learning needs.
  • Coordinate patient care as instructed by healthcare providers and registered nurses, including referrals, medication management, and follow-up.
  • Document patient complaints and prepare them for examinations according to established protocols.
  • Gather patient information via phone regarding their symptoms and relay this to the healthcare provider accurately.
  • Conduct focused nursing assessments and evaluate patient responses to treatments, communicating findings to the healthcare team.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of patient assessments and care in medical documentation.
  • Review patient records and pertinent information prior to provider consultations, reporting relevant details to the healthcare team.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant environment for patients and staff, adhering to OSHA standards.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality and treat all individuals with respect and dignity.
  • Organize and maintain treatment rooms, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization of instruments.
  • Follow standard infection control protocols.
  • Ensure medication management complies with policies, documenting medications and immunizations accurately.

Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current and unrestricted State Vocational/Practical Nursing license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • IV certification may be required based on clinic needs.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and office procedures.
  • Proficient in electronic medical records and computer skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Skilled in performing medical procedures, including injections and phlebotomy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with patients and staff.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Compliance with Tuberculosis screening and proof of immunity for specific diseases.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • IV certification.
  • Two or more years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.

Physical & Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to operate a company vehicle safely.
