Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute nursing duties within the scope of a Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse, including procedures, injections, medication administration, EKGs, and phlebotomy as per state regulations.
  • Engage in the implementation of educational plans for patients and their families addressing common health issues.
  • Coordinate patient care as instructed by healthcare providers and RNs, including referrals and follow-up care.
  • Document patient complaints and prepare patients for examinations in accordance with established protocols.
  • Gather information on patient complaints and symptoms, effectively communicating with the healthcare provider.
  • Conduct focused nursing assessments and assist in evaluating patient responses to treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of patient assessments and care in medical documentation.
  • Review patient records and relevant information prior to provider consultations, ensuring all pertinent details are communicated.
  • Ensure a safe clinical environment adhering to OSHA standards.
  • Uphold patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations while treating patients with respect.
  • Organize and maintain treatment areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization of instruments.
  • Implement standard infection control measures.
  • Oversee medication management, ensuring accurate documentation of medications and immunizations.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid and unrestricted State Vocational/Practical Nursing license.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • IV certification as required by the clinic.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and office procedures.
  • Proficient in using electronic medical records.
  • Ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.
  • Experience in performing medical procedures, injections, and phlebotomy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with providers, staff, and patients.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Compliance with Tuberculosis screening and proof of immunity to specific diseases.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • IV certification.
  • Two or more years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.

Physical & Mental Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to operate a company vehicle.
