Qualifications for the Financial Operations Manager:

  • Minimum of 4 years of high-level experience in a multi-unit retail setting
  • Experience managing financial operations for organizations with $300M+ in annual revenue and 20+ entities (required)
  • Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance is highly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP accounting principles for financial statement preparation, complex journal entries, general ledger management, and month-end/year-end closing processes
  • Familiarity with IFRS reporting, SOX compliance, lease taxation, and fixed asset accounting
  • Proficient in accounting software and experienced in transitioning to new systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent communication skills for effective teamwork
  • Demonstrated experience leading a team of 4-8 individuals

Key Responsibilities of the Financial Operations Manager:

  • Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, bank reconciliations, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition
  • Coordinate and manage the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Prepare and publish timely and compliant monthly financial statements
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring adherence to quality control standards
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax obligations
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures for accounting policies to enhance internal controls
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the finance and accounting team
