Position Overview

K1 is looking for a dedicated Accountant to manage daily financial, operational, and compliance activities within our organization. This role necessitates a solid understanding of both internal and external accounting procedures, the ability to collaborate with internal deal teams and finance members to deliver high-quality outputs, and the capability to communicate proficiently with clients and consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate relationship management with both internal and external stakeholders, including deal teams, fund administrators, consultants, and auditors.
  • Ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance and financial reporting.
  • Coordinate with various parties for the launch of new funds.
  • When necessary, oversee the production of reporting materials from other departments.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing quarterly reports for limited partners and portfolio managers.
  • Review compliance reports and aid in managing debt facilities.
  • Examine quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures for all funds.
  • Support the review of management and performance fee calculations.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of regulatory compliance submissions.
  • Evaluate cash flow forecasts and assist with daily cash management tasks.
  • Address ad-hoc requests from limited partners, internal team members, and portfolio managers.
  • Review information for tax consultants regarding quarterly tax estimates, annual extensions, and tax returns.
  • Monitor fund expense budgets and payments.
  • Oversee the internal corporate card expense review and approval process.

Qualifications:

  • 1-4 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 experience preferred but not mandatory).
  • Alternatively, 1-3 years of experience in portfolio reporting at a fund administrator, asset management firm, or related financial services organization.
  • CPA designation is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical, summarization, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient time management and deadline adherence abilities.
  • Capacity to follow directions while also demonstrating initiative when appropriate.
  • Ability to lead assigned projects to successful completion.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality standards in all aspects of work.
  • Unwavering ethics and integrity.
  • Bachelor's degree; first-generation college students are encouraged to apply.
