Job Overview

K1 is looking for a dedicated Accountant to manage daily financial, operational, and compliance activities. The ideal candidate will possess the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively handle relationships with clients, third-party entities, and internal teams while providing comprehensive support to the Finance Managing Director.

This role necessitates a solid understanding of both internal and external accounting practices. The successful candidate will align with and support internal deal teams and finance members to deliver high-quality, efficient outputs, while also demonstrating the ability to communicate effectively with clients and consultants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate relationship management with internal and external stakeholders, including deal teams, fund administrators, consultants, and auditors.
  • Ensure compliance and finance functions meet all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deadlines.
  • Coordinate with various parties for the launch of new funds.
  • When necessary, assist in producing reporting content from other departments.
  • Help prepare and review quarterly reports for limited partners and portfolio managers.
  • Review compliance reports and assist in managing debt facilities.
  • Examine quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures for all funds.
  • Assist in reviewing management and performance fee calculations.
  • Support the preparation and review of regulatory compliance filings.
  • Analyze cash flow projections and assist with daily cash management.
  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from limited partners, internal team members, and portfolio managers.
  • Review information provided to tax consultants for tax estimates and returns.
  • Monitor fund expense budgets and payments.
  • Oversee the internal corporate card expense review and approval process.

Qualifications:

  • 1-4 years of experience in public accounting (Big 4 experience preferred but not mandatory).
  • 1-3 years of portfolio reporting experience in a fund administrator, asset management firm, or related financial services organization.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical, summarization, and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Effective time management and deadline adherence.
  • Capacity to take direction and demonstrate initiative as needed.
  • Proficiency in managing assigned projects to completion.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal abilities.
  • Commitment to quality and integrity in all aspects of work.
  • Unwavering ethics and integrity.
  • Bachelor's degree - first-generation college students are encouraged to apply.
