Overview
The IT Business Relationship Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the alignment between the IT department and various business units at the New York Power Authority (NYPA). This position serves as a primary point of contact within IT, dedicated to understanding and addressing the technology needs of the business.

Key Responsibilities
Planning and Prioritization:
Develop a comprehensive understanding of business customer needs, identifying opportunities to leverage technology for achieving business objectives. Collaborate with business leaders to prioritize technology investments and provide insights to IT leadership.

Technology Innovation Intake:
Support business and IT leaders in developing new capabilities through technology solutions that meet evolving requirements and demonstrate a clear return on investment. This includes defining business objectives, analyzing current processes, recommending viable technology solutions, and preparing project cost estimates.

Business and IT Alignment:
Work closely with business units to align technology initiatives with business goals. Facilitate collaboration between cross-functional teams to develop business cases and secure approvals for technology implementation.

Communications and Relationship Building:
Engage with senior management to effectively communicate complex technical information. Build strong relationships within and outside of IT, addressing challenges with respect and confidence while advocating for business customers.

Technology Leadership:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and technologies, applying this knowledge to enhance technology strategies and plans.

Advising, Coaching, and Mentoring:
Serve as a key technical resource for the business, providing meaningful solutions to complex issues. Mentor associates to enhance their technical skills and problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Finance, HR, Engineering, or a related field; a graduate degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in information technology, particularly in the design, development, and implementation of large-scale systems.
• Strong understanding of utility industry practices is advantageous.
