Project Overview

The IT Project Management Specialist will oversee various capital initiatives. Key responsibilities include governance, reporting, and providing critical insights for informed management decision-making. Both traditional and agile project management methodologies may be employed.

Key Responsibilities:


• Primarily accountable for fulfilling project commitments, including effective communication with sponsors and stakeholders.


• Serve as the liaison between business units and IT. Facilitate the IT workstream and documentation of projects (scheduling, tasks, costs, changes/risks/issues) through established IT PMO processes and tools for assigned initiatives. As necessary, assist in all project phases: initiation, planning, execution, and closure for new or enhanced systems.


• Supervise the project timeline, budget, and deliverables. Monitor progress and review project tasks to ensure deadlines are met efficiently.


• Identify potential issues or challenges that may affect project delivery. Collaborate across functions to address problems, mitigate risks, and support change. Evaluate decisions and actions to align with the project's strategic objectives. Engage with senior management to escalate and resolve complex issues and risks.


• Provide realistic resource planning for all project phases, including the transition to production support.


• Assess the impact of technological requirements and constraints on project scope.


• Apply project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) to facilitate technical solution delivery.


• Support solution delivery processes, procedures, and tools (DevOps, configuration management, change management) to ensure stable, robust, and scalable solutions.


• Manage project financials, including budget and forecasting.


• Ensure compliance with ITIL/ITSM standards, Enterprise Architecture, Cyber Security policies, and other technical standards.


• Adhere to IT PMO and IT Governance requirements, including project documentation standards and reviews as outlined in the IT PMO Playbook.


• Collaborate with program teams, project teams, various IT departments, and related business unit personnel to maintain a comprehensive understanding of project objectives.


• Foster and maintain communication among project team members and stakeholders while managing expectations.


• Prepare necessary correspondence, presentations, and reports.


• Follow up on correspondence and outstanding requests for resolution.

Required Qualifications:


• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle and experience in IT project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, hybrid) and IT solution delivery processes.


• Proven project management skills, including customer relationship management, sponsor expectation management, risk management, and change management.


• Understanding of data governance, management, and quality.


• Highly organized, effective communicator, deadline-oriented, team builder, leader, planner, problem solver, and adaptable.


• Ability to cultivate a positive and inclusive work environment through professional behavior, collaboration, and communication.


• Exceptional interpersonal, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills to ensure open communication across project teams. Capable of managing complex communications and diffusing challenging situations to foster shared commitment to project goals.


• Ability to work collaboratively across functions to resolve issues and implement changes, analyzing decisions and actions in support of broader strategic objectives.


• Demonstrated success in project management, both in terms of results achieved and adherence to professional methodologies.

Education & Certifications:


• Bachelor's Degree in a technical or business-related field. An advanced degree is preferred.


• Project Management Certification is preferred.


• At least 7 years of progressively responsible experience, including managing various projects and programs.


• Experience with enterprise transformation projects is desirable.
