Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Field Supervisor to enhance our Subsurface Utility Engineering operations. This pivotal position involves planning, executing, and overseeing multiple projects within the SUE sector of our Geomatics practice. Our team thrives in a fast-paced environment, engaging in diverse projects across various sectors. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee SUE projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they remain profitable, timely, and within budget.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships, maintaining clear communication regarding project scope and outcomes.
  • Conduct various types of surveys, including Boundary, ALTA, Topographical, and Construction surveys.
  • Collaborate with team members and manage project schedules, objectives, and field crew activities.
  • Supervise the creation of maps, plats, legal descriptions, and other deliverables while ensuring quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff and support practice leaders in training initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required, including 5 years in SUE fieldwork and 3 years in a supervisory role overseeing field crews. Additionally, 3 years of experience in underground utility locating is essential.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a drug screening.

Preferred Skills:

  • Completion of an Advanced Utility Locating Training Course is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Subsurface Utility Engineering principles and equipment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations and standards is beneficial.
  • Understanding of A/E/C industry terminology and processes is a plus.
  • Experience with Electromagnetic Locating Equipment, Ground Penetrating Radar, and Vacuum Excavation is preferred.
  • Basic skills in AutoCAD and MicroStation are desirable.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet and Deltek Vision is an asset.
