Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Field Supervisor II, Geomatics


Position Overview:

Are you ready to advance your career in the Land Surveying sector within a supportive environment that fosters professional development? The Geomatics division at Catapult offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with Land Surveying expertise, such as Survey Rodmen or Crew Chiefs. In this role, you will lead a survey team across various survey types, identifying both natural and artificial features on the Earth's surface, as well as underground and underwater. Enjoy the outdoors while engaging in diverse survey projects, including boundary, ALTA, topographic, existing conditions, right-of-way, transmission line, transportation, and construction surveys.


Key Responsibilities:

As a Field Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the field crew's operations. Your duties will include ensuring the quality of work regarding accuracy, thoroughness, and clarity. You will manage project timelines, budgets, and client service responsiveness. Additionally, you will supervise the use of surveying and SUE instruments and equipment, such as prisms, total stations, GPS devices, data collectors, magnetic locators, and ground penetrating radar. Effective communication with clients, project teams, and the public is essential, as is representing Catapult in a professional and safe manner.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in underground utility locating
  • 5-8 years of relevant industry experience
  • Ability to pass a drug screening
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to pass a driving record check
  • Advanced knowledge of Subsurface Utility Engineering and related equipment
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for future sponsorship

Physical Requirements:

Applicants must be capable of performing the physical demands of the role, which include squatting, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, navigating challenging terrain, and accessing construction sites in various weather conditions. Frequent movement and operation of land surveying equipment will be required.
