Role Overview:

We are seeking a Field Supervisor to lead our Subsurface Utility Engineering initiatives. This pivotal position involves overseeing the planning, execution, and management of multiple projects within the SUE sector of our Geomatics practice. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee SUE projects from inception to completion, ensuring they remain profitable, timely, and within budget.
  • Establish and nurture client relationships, maintaining clear communication regarding project scope and deliverables.
  • Conduct a variety of surveys, including Boundary, ALTA, Topographical, and Construction surveys.
  • Collaborate with team members and independently manage various aspects of survey projects, including schedules and directing field crews.
  • Supervise the creation of maps, plats, legal descriptions, and other deliverables while ensuring quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide mentorship to junior staff and support practice leaders in training initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required, including 5 years in SUE fieldwork and 3 years in a supervisory role overseeing field crews. Experience in underground utility locating is essential.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to pass a drug screening.

Preferred Skills:

  • Completion of an Advanced Utility Locating Training Course is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Subsurface Utility Engineering principles and associated equipment is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations and standards is preferred.
  • Understanding of A/E/C industry terminology and practices is beneficial.
  • Experience with Electromagnetic Locating Equipment, Ground Penetrating Radar, and Vacuum Excavation is preferred.
  • Basic skills in AutoCAD and MicroStation are advantageous.
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet and Deltek Vision is a plus.
