Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled SUE Technician III - Utility Locator to join our team. As a Utility Designator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a vacuum excavation truck and related equipment safely and efficiently. You will also possess the ability to designate/locate a variety of underground utilities, create legible field sketches, simple mathematics, field measurements, document daily activities, and perform records research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain a vacuum excavation truck and related equipment safely and efficiently
  • Designate/locate a variety of underground utilities
  • Create legible field sketches and perform simple mathematics
  • Document daily activities and perform records research
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 - 4 years of experience in utility locating or designating
  • Experience with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) is preferred
  • Understanding of basic traffic control and the hazards associated with working in and around traffic
  • Ability to follow instructions and possess a positive can-do attitude
  • Leadership and mentoring skills
  • Basic knowledge of various underground utilities and ability to identify surface features associated with various utilities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Surveying, CADD, and vacuum excavation truck experience
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • NULCA or other certification
