Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Accounting Manager to join our team at Boston Senior Home Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our financial operations, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance to our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis
    • Prepare and review monthly journal entries, including prepaid expenses, accruals, accumulated depreciation, bank account activities, and indirect cost allocation.
    • Analyze and report Purchased Service data.
    • Assist in the preparation of Financial Statements for month and year-end closings in a timely manner.
  • Financial Operations Management
    • Train and supervise all fiscal staff in the preparation of accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoice verification, and billings to funding agencies.
    • Participate in analyzing and reporting financial data to inform business decisions.
  • Financial Planning and Budgeting
    • Prepare and conduct annual performance reviews for the fiscal staff.
    • Participate actively in the ongoing activities of the agency by being involved in certain department meetings.
  • Financial Compliance and Risk Management
    • Prepare back-up materials for outside auditors and assist auditors with access to materials and information relative to the preparation of the audit.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and laws.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • BS in accounting or BS in management with accounting concentration is required.
    • One to three years general accounting experience required.
  • Skills and Competencies
    • Aptitude for and the desire to work with details and numbers.
    • Excellent analytical skills.
    • Computer aptitude.
    • Strong commitment to the values and the mission of the agency.
    • Proficiency in Excel spreadsheet, knowledge of Solomon/Dynamics accounting software and Microsoft Word preferred.
Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office environment. The employee must be able to carry 15 to 20 lbs. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will initially supervise the accounts payable and accounts receivable staff.
