Role Responsibilities
As we evolve into an independent entity while maintaining our ownership by Bain & Company, we are seeking a seasoned and adaptable Manager of Public Accounting to collaborate closely with our Director of Finance in enhancing our internal accounting functions.

The primary objectives of this role include:

  • Executing accounting functions within the Americas general ledger team to ensure timely and precise global consolidated financial reporting.
  • Assisting global finance teams in the proper application of international policies in alignment with US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
  • Analyzing financial data, developing and maintaining accounting controls to protect company assets, and preparing management reports and financial statements.

Key Duties
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Responsible for accumulating, journalizing, reconciling, and reporting on global financial data for specific transactions and initiatives:

  • Review and post journal entries as part of the month-end closing process.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations across various areas.
  • Ensure accuracy in balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Conduct fluctuation analysis of balance sheet accounts for senior management review.
  • Oversee all aspects of the month-end financial close, including collaboration with FP&A and reviewing contracts.
  • Identify risks and implement necessary controls.
  • Prepare detailed audit schedules for year-end and interim reviews.
  • Stay updated on new or changing US GAAP standards.

Payroll and Expense Management
Manage payroll, bonus accrual, and vacation accrual entries:

  • Prepare payroll application entries and payroll tax withholdings for all entities.
  • Reconcile employee expense reports and prepare related journal entries.

Cash Management
Oversee cash management activities:

  • Reconcile bank accounts and intercompany costs between parent and subsidiaries.

Global and Local Accounting Alignment
Ensure alignment of accounting needs from both global and local statutory perspectives:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of processes and continuously assess and design improvements for efficiency.
  • Research and resolve complex accounting and reporting issues independently.
  • Assist in team management, focusing on achieving overall team goals and supervising training for accounting staff.
  • Contribute to the analysis and development of internal controls for safeguarding company assets.
  • Document procedures and recommend process enhancements.
  • Act as a customer service representative for internal and external inquiries.

This position is remote, allowing flexibility to work from various locations across the US.

Candidate Profile
Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including tenure at a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • Experience in a regional or global accounting environment.
  • Familiarity with financial and accounting information systems (e.g., SAP, FloQast, Visual Lease, Workday).
