Position Overview:

  • Compensation: $70-84/hour, depending on experience
  • Location: Midland, TX
  • Work Schedule: 7/7 rotation
  • Assignment Duration: 12 months or more

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automation Control Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • In-depth knowledge of automation and electrical design principles
  • Proficient in working with PLCs, HMIs, RTUs, EFMs, and POCs (e.g., Allan Bradley, Totalflow, ROCs, Coriolis)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in Automation Integration/Programming
  • At least 3 years of experience in Oil Field Process Facilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Automation Engineering outputs by programming and/or installing PLC programs, ensuring adherence to engineering design standards. Collaborate with Automation Engineering to enhance design and control systems. Partner with Project Managers in Automation Construction and Commissioning to successfully commission facilities.
  • Conduct troubleshooting, testing, and debugging of programs, and manage the timely completion of project deliverables.
  • Oversee all aspects of facility commissioning, with a focus on automation control systems.
  • Maintain project schedules to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of facility equipment, process flow, and automation control systems. Demonstrate expertise in Electrical and Mechanical systems, Software applications, data management, and network security.
  • Develop and validate automation programs, ensuring compliance with engineering documentation.
  • Utilize various software tools for PLC programming (e.g., RSLogix500, RSLogix5000), HMI programming, and RTU support.
  • Complete redlines and relevant documentation to support current AS-BUILT post-commissioning.
  • Assist in training aspiring automation integrators on organizational processes and programming of automation control systems.
  • Support low voltage devices, including transformers, breaker boxes, electrical switches, heaters, motors, and analyzers.
  • Provide troubleshooting and basic repair for 120v AC power supply to automation systems.
  • Assist in troubleshooting of 480v and lower AC power availability and communicate findings to the electrical team.
  • Support automation end devices by calibrating, troubleshooting, installing, and utilizing communication tools.
  • Identify and troubleshoot communication issues across Ethernet, serial, satellite, and wireless systems.
  • Ensure alarms comply with client standards, accurately reflect processes, function as intended, and adhere to change control protocols.
