Responsibilities:
- Design and implement automation solutions for upstream oil and gas operations to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety
- Work collaboratively with diverse teams to integrate automation systems into current processes
- Program and configure SCADA, PLCs, and HMI systems for effective process management
- Regularly evaluate control systems to identify enhancement opportunities and ensure compliance with industry regulations
- Diagnose and resolve automation system challenges to reduce downtime and optimize production efficiency
- Assist in planning and executing upgrades and modifications to control systems while staying informed on industry advancements and best practices
- Liaise with suppliers to procure automation equipment and components, ensuring quality and compliance with project specifications
- Provide technical guidance and training to operations and maintenance personnel on the use and upkeep of automation systems
- Keep up with emerging automation technologies in the oil and gas sector and suggest new implementations that align with organizational objectives
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related discipline
- 5+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer in the upstream oil and gas sector
- Expertise in DCS, PLCs, and SCADA system programming
- Profound knowledge of instrumentation, control valves, and process control principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication abilities and a team-oriented approach
- Capability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet project timelines
