Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement automation solutions for upstream oil and gas operations to improve efficiency, reliability, and safety
  • Work collaboratively with diverse teams to integrate automation systems into current processes
  • Program and configure SCADA, PLCs, and HMI systems for effective process management
  • Regularly evaluate control systems to identify enhancement opportunities and ensure compliance with industry regulations
  • Diagnose and resolve automation system challenges to reduce downtime and optimize production efficiency
  • Assist in planning and executing upgrades and modifications to control systems while staying informed on industry advancements and best practices
  • Liaise with suppliers to procure automation equipment and components, ensuring quality and compliance with project specifications
  • Provide technical guidance and training to operations and maintenance personnel on the use and upkeep of automation systems
  • Keep up with emerging automation technologies in the oil and gas sector and suggest new implementations that align with organizational objectives

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, automation engineering, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of experience as an Automation Engineer in the upstream oil and gas sector
  • Expertise in DCS, PLCs, and SCADA system programming
  • Profound knowledge of instrumentation, control valves, and process control principles
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication abilities and a team-oriented approach
  • Capability to prioritize tasks effectively and meet project timelines
