Position Overview

This role provides an exciting opportunity to collaborate within a project team alongside fellow engineers and designers engaged in the development, modification, and evaluation of electrical systems for oil and gas facilities. Additionally, you will contribute to the design of power generation plants and various industrial infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage in complex tasks that involve diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving a diverse range of electrical engineering challenges.
  • Assist the project lead in ensuring that projects are executed effectively, adhering to timelines and budget constraints.
  • Support the project lead in coordinating design activities to guarantee compliance with specifications, codes, and client expectations.
  • Conduct and review detailed calculations, including three-phase power transient analyses, voltage drop assessments, and protective relay configurations.
  • Prepare documentation to inform drawing production processes.
  • Collaborate with vendors to develop material and equipment procurement specifications for client recommendations.
  • Generate reports and studies that convey technical information clearly and concisely, aligning with client requirements and company standards.
  • Perform independent evaluations of work completed by peers, including calculations and drawing preparations.
Work Arrangement

This position operates on a hybrid work schedule, necessitating in-office attendance three days a week.

QualificationsImportant Skills and Experience:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program is essential.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in oil and gas or industrial facility design, emphasizing integrated and detailed system design for new projects or modifications to existing ones.
  • Proficiency in selecting equipment, materials, control philosophies, and compiling calculations and specifications.
  • Experience in electrical system design, including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), communication systems, and analytical calculations.
  • Technical knowledge of available equipment and established pre-engineered systems for effective systems design.
  • Experience serving as a liaison between firms and clients in a support or leadership engineering capacity.
  • Familiarity with reviewing design calculations and drawings from other engineers.
  • This role is based in Midland, TX and may involve occasional travel.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Experience in construction and start-up processes is advantageous.
  • A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
