Position Summary:

The Configuration Management (CM) Systems Specialist plays a crucial role in the organization's configuration management, engineering, and product development functions. This position is responsible for ensuring that Configuration Management data is systematically organized, readily accessible, and synchronized with Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Product Data Management (PDM) systems, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). The CM Systems Specialist will oversee daily operations and enhancements related to product lifecycle management, configuration processes, and system administration services, possessing extensive knowledge in data management throughout the Product Life Cycle and Configuration Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary AST CM Functional and Technical Analyst.
  • Serve as the Fusion PLM System Administrator, managing user access and system configuration.
  • Be the main point of contact for CM Fusion PLM, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure thorough review of release contents and gathering requirements for effective business solutions.
  • Develop, document, and support CM processes, including Engineering Change, Control and Release, and Document Change Control.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and support to the AST Engineering User community on PLM FUSION processes, management services, and related policies.
  • Facilitate Engineering Change Order and Release, as well as Configuration Change Document Control activities.
  • Manage satellite configurations and historical data within the Fusion PLM system.
  • Oversee requests and report on projects, enhancements, and changes related to Fusion PLM.
  • Support the New Part Introduction process and related activities.
  • Collect system metrics, KPIs, and non-compliance data, reporting status to management.
  • Identify opportunities for system and service improvements, implementing rules and configurations to enhance user experience and performance.
  • Monitor and resolve errors between systems to ensure synchronization of CAD, PLM, ERP, and MES.
  • Establish auditing processes.
  • Act as a techno-functional liaison to manage relationships with third-party support partners.
  • Assist with licensing and usage to optimize costs.
  • Develop reports and tools for user needs as required.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or a related field, or an Associate's degree with 10 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in change management and engineering release.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Experience with Autodesk Fusion 360, Team Center/Enova, or similar PLM software is required; certification in Fusion 360 Manage is a plus.
  • Demonstrated technical, functional, and analytical skills.
  • Experience in change management and document control is essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and MS Project, with the ability to navigate multiple web platforms.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Capable of working independently without direct supervision.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to drive results in a dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, or a related field with 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Inventor CAD, NetSuite ERP, and Solumina MES.
  • Background in aerospace or similar fast-paced environments where adaptability is key.
  • Familiarity with custom or off-the-shelf systems integration tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models.
