Job Overview

As a key member of our production team at Kirchhoff Automotive, you will be responsible for various assembly tasks that contribute to the efficient manufacturing of our automotive components. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing assembly tasks.

• Set up and operate assigned assembly machinery effectively.

• Follow detailed work instructions as specified in Standard Operation Sheets (SOS) and Job Element Sheets (JES).

• Execute die changes and set-up processes as needed.

• Manage the loading and unloading of components into welding and assembly fixtures.

• Operate various equipment for welding, stamping, pressing, and riveting parts and sub-assemblies.

• Conduct manual assembly, welding, and tapping as required.

• Ensure that production output meets quality specifications and efficiency targets.

• Comply with all company policies and operational procedures.

• Perform routine maintenance on assigned machinery.

• Complete all necessary documentation related to production activities, including checklists and quality assurance records.
  • Assist with any other reasonable tasks as assigned by management.

• Be prepared for occasional travel, including overnight stays.

• Work overtime as needed, including weekends and extended shifts.

• Maintain consistent attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
  • Contribute to a safe and organized work environment by implementing 5S principles.
  • Adhere to all relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
Qualifications

• Preferred experience of 1-2 years in a manufacturing or assembly role.

Skills Required

• Proficient in reading and understanding safety guidelines, work instructions, and company policies.
  • Basic math skills for calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

• Ability to follow detailed instructions and solve problems in standardized situations.

• Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively within a team.
  • Capability to handle and manipulate parts using hands and tools.
  • Willingness to wear personal protective equipment as required.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and moving items up to 40 pounds.
  • Capacity to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat and noise.

• High school diploma or GED is required.

Lean Manufacturing

• Familiarity with KAPS methods and commitment to Lean principles.
  • Active participation in Shopfloor and Office Management initiatives.
  • Engagement in training and development to enhance Lean Excellence.
