Role Summary:
The Anesthesia Technician is responsible for executing assigned tasks related to the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies. This includes assisting in the setup for anesthesia administration and the placement of intravenous lines. The technician also prepares patients and equipment, manages supply orders, and performs various non-nursing tasks associated with patient care. It is essential to ensure that all required supplies and equipment are available and functioning properly, while also maintaining a clean environment and prioritizing patient safety.
Operating Room / Cardiovascular Operating Room Details
- Handles approximately 6,500 surgical procedures each year.
- Supports a wide range of specialties, excluding ENT and Eye, with a focus on neuro and spine procedures.
- Comprises a total of 10 operating rooms, including 2 specifically designated for cardiovascular operations.
- Operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, throughout the year.
Educational Requirements:
- Completion of high school or equivalent educational background.
Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of two years' experience in a relevant healthcare setting, ideally within an operating room, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensure and Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
- After two years of service, the technician is required to successfully complete the Technician certification examination through the ASATT.
