The Anesthesia Technician plays a vital role in the surgical team by assisting in the preparation and maintenance of anesthesia equipment and supplies. This position involves setting up necessary apparatus for anesthesia administration and supporting the placement of intravenous lines.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing patients and ensuring all equipment is ready for use.
  • Ordering and managing supplies to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Performing various non-nursing tasks that contribute to patient care.

It is essential to guarantee that all required supplies and equipment are available and functioning properly. The technician also upholds cleanliness standards for equipment and prioritizes patient safety throughout the process.


Operating Environment:

The role is situated within a dynamic operating room environment, which handles approximately 6,500 surgical procedures each year. The facility encompasses a range of specialties, excluding ENT and Eye, with a focus on neuro and spine surgeries. There are a total of 10 operating rooms, including 2 designated for cardiovascular procedures, operating continuously throughout the year.


Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Experience: A minimum of two years in a relevant healthcare setting is preferred, particularly within an operating room context, or equivalent education and experience.

Licensure/Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory. After two years of service, employees are required to successfully complete the Technician certification exam through the ASATT.
