Position Summary:

We are in search of a skilled Applications Scientist specializing in Biomedical Engineering to enhance our cell therapy initiatives. This role emphasizes mastering our CelligentTM platform technology, designing and implementing experiments to demonstrate our capabilities to clients while also contributing to internal advancements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experimental Design and Implementation: Create and conduct experiments utilizing the CelligentTM Platform to streamline adherent cell and iPSC-derived therapeutic processes.
  • Technical Problem Solving: Address technical challenges to fulfill experimental objectives.
  • Independent Project Management: Strategically plan and execute experiments with guidance from senior scientific personnel to meet project goals.

Laboratory Techniques:

  • Utilize aseptic methods for the upkeep of mammalian cell cultures.
  • Conduct hands-on experiments applying design of experiment (DOE) principles for optimizing processes.
  • Perform essential cellular and molecular biology techniques, including RNA/DNA extractions, PCR, qPCR, ELISA, flow cytometry, and microscopy.
  • Maintain precise and comprehensive records of experimental outcomes.
  • Adhere to established laboratory protocols and company regulations.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Foster a collaborative environment by engaging with cross-functional teams, including software developers, mechanical engineers, AI/ML specialists, and stem cell scientists.
  • Exhibit a proactive approach to problem-solving and project management.
  • Organize tasks effectively to achieve project deadlines.
  • Be open to undertaking occasional non-scientific duties necessary for the lab's operation.

Qualifications:

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. is mandatory.
  • A Master's or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Stem Cell Biology, or a related field with 1-2 years of relevant experience, or a BS in a scientific discipline with 2-4 years of direct laboratory experience.

Technical Skills:

  • Enthusiasm for working at the intersection of biology and automation/AI.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis tools and laboratory software.
  • Experience with mammalian tissue culture techniques.
  • Willingness to learn various assays for characterizing stem cell cultures.

Communication and Organizational Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and manage work plans effectively.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of computational biology and bioinformatics.
  • Familiarity with gene editing technologies.
  • Experience with iPSC reprogramming and programming.
