Senior Electrochemical Research Scientist

We are seeking a Senior Electrochemical Scientist to become an integral part of our dynamic team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead research initiatives focused on optimizing electrochemical methodologies for extractive metallurgy.
- Execute experiments utilizing our advanced high-temperature electrochemical testing apparatus.
- Formulate new experimental protocols for assessing the electrochemical characteristics of molten oxides.
- Oversee the enhancement and upkeep of current experimental setups and materials characterization tools.
- Analyze data and disseminate findings across the organization.
You will collaborate closely with the R&D team on laboratory-scale research projects and partner with the engineering team to advance full-scale industrial experiments.
Required Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience in electrochemical research or engineering within a technical setting (PhD, postdoc, or MS). A PhD or MS from a recognized institution in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline is essential.
Applicants should possess a robust theoretical foundation in electrochemistry, demonstrated capability in data analysis and modeling, and a proven track record in innovative electrochemical research. The ability to independently design and execute research programs is crucial.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Familiarity with experimental electrochemical cell configurations.
- Experience in materials or metallurgical research.
- Knowledge of high-temperature systems.
- Proficiency in thermodynamic modeling and calculations (FactSage is preferred).
- Experience working with extensive data sets.
- Proficiency in analysis scripting using Matlab or Python.
- Experience with LabVIEW.
- Skills in materials characterization.
Additional Information
This position requires working within a collaborative team environment where strong interpersonal relationships are vital. Our operations include pilot plants and laboratories, and staff may be required to wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
