Position Overview

Spear Bio is an innovative and rapidly expanding startup located in Woburn, Massachusetts, dedicated to developing a groundbreaking ultrasensitive immunoassay platform that utilizes minimal sample volumes while ensuring exceptional data quality.

As a Field Application Scientist, reporting directly to the Head of Platform Development, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our clients by providing comprehensive training, facilitating the adoption of our assays, and delivering technical support. This position is primarily commercial and client-facing, requiring participation in pre-sales activities, including showcasing our technology and its diverse applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the pre-sales initiatives by delivering engaging presentations and demonstrations of our workflow to prospective clients.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by offering training, support, and resolving any challenges that may arise.
  • Collaborate with external partners, clients, and key opinion leaders (KOLs) to create new application notes, workflows, and assay solutions.
  • Communicate customer feedback and insights to the Marketing and Product Development teams.
  • Act as a thought leader, representing Spear Bio at industry conferences, trade shows, and academic events.
  • Work collaboratively across the organization to promote the successful growth and adoption of Spear Bio technologies.
  • This position requires onsite presence and may involve up to 25% travel.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in life sciences, biomedical engineering, biophysics, or a related discipline; a minimum of 1 year of industry experience is preferred.
  • Previous experience in application support and/or customer service in Ultra Sensitive Diagnostics is essential.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, along with strong presentation abilities.
  • Hands-on experience in immunoassay method development, optimization, and data analysis.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with ultra-sensitive immunoassay platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with a strong sense of urgency in task execution.
  • Excellent project management skills, capable of managing and organizing work amidst multiple and evolving priorities.
