Field Engineer I

The Field Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the repair and maintenance of electro-mechanical systems both in the workshop and at client locations. These professionals are responsible for the installation, diagnosis, and repair of various equipment. Their work involves resource management for field operations, applying technical knowledge to solve issues, and collaborating with clients to provide insights and recommendations.

Reporting Structure

The Field Engineer I will report directly to the Equipment Repair Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee assigned engineering projects.
  • Keep the supervisor informed on project statuses to promote teamwork.
  • Conduct research to identify challenges and devise effective solutions.
  • Engage in ongoing training and research to remain updated with industry advancements.
  • Supervise the upkeep of various equipment and infrastructure pertinent to the sector.
  • Implement new technologies as required by research teams and employee needs.
  • Diagnose and resolve alarms, failures, and other operational issues.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of work performed, shared with the service team, supervisor, and clients.
  • Act as a representative of Practical Applications, Inc. in the field.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related position is required. Candidates should possess a Grade 2I Wastewater License and demonstrate strong technical skills in 4/20 ma input/output functions, PLCs, basic electrical systems, pumps, motors, valves, piping, relays, basic logic, P&ID control, and mechanical competencies.
