Field Engineer I
The Field Engineer plays a vital role in facilitating electro-mechanical repair operations both in the workshop and on-site. These professionals serve as on-location technicians responsible for the installation, diagnosis, and repair of various equipment. This position entails managing resources for field assignments, applying theoretical knowledge to resolve issues, documenting findings and solutions, and collaborating with clients to offer insights and recommendations. Field Engineers predominantly operate at customer locations, showcasing their critical thinking abilities alongside strong communication and customer service skills.
Reporting Structure
The Field Engineer I will report directly to the Equipment Repair Supervisor.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, coordinate, and oversee assigned engineering projects.
- Provide regular updates to the supervisor regarding project statuses to ensure effective teamwork.
- Conduct research to identify challenges and formulate suitable solutions.
- Engage in ongoing research and training to remain informed about advancements in the field.
- Supervise the upkeep of various types of equipment and infrastructure relevant to the industry.
- Implement new and advanced technologies based on the research team's requirements and employee needs.
- Diagnose alarms, failures, anomalies, or any other issues that may occur.
- Maintain comprehensive records of work performed, which are shared with the service team, supervisor, and clients.
- Act as a representative of Practical Applications, Inc. in the field.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity is required. A Grade 2I Wastewater License is necessary. Candidates must possess a solid technical foundation in 4/20 ma input/output functions, PLCs, basic electrical systems, pumps, motors, valves, piping, relays, basic logic, P&ID control, and mechanical skills.
