Overview: CornerStone Technology Talent Services is on the lookout for an IT Hardware Support Specialist to join our team. This role is essential for the effective deployment and management of technology systems across various locations. The successful candidate will be tasked with the installation and support of PCs and point-of-sale (POS) systems, providing remote assistance, and managing hardware-related responsibilities.

Role Summary: The IT Hardware Support Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of hardware systems at different store locations. Responsibilities include offering remote support, troubleshooting issues, and assisting with hardware setup and logistics. Experience in a distribution or warehouse setting, along with familiarity with reverse logistics, is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate the deployment of hardware to various locations, collaborating with store staff and onsite technicians.
  • Provide remote troubleshooting for POS systems, including PCs, monitors, and various types of printers.
  • Utilize a computerized system for remote configurations and equipment setups.
  • Collaborate with support personnel to resolve hardware issues effectively.
  • Document and track hardware issues, maintaining accurate records in the ticketing system.
  • Configure and troubleshoot networking devices for store operations.
  • Assist with hardware logistics and shipping as necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED with 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Associate's degree or completion of a technical program is preferred.
  • Experience with POS hardware is advantageous.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair PC hardware issues remotely.
  • Dell Warranty Parts Direct certification is a plus.
  • A+ Certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with CCTV systems is beneficial.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting Windows operating systems.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
  • Attention to detail and effective follow-up skills.
  • Excellent customer service abilities, both verbal and written.
  • Prior experience in telephone customer service is desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with warehouse inventory management is a plus.
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate a hydraulic pallet stacker.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods while performing device repairs and configurations.
  • Occasional sitting for follow-up communications.
  • Frequent bending and lifting as required for shipping and receiving tasks.
  • Capability to lift and carry loads up to 40 pounds independently.
  • Occasional group lifting of heavier items.
  • Frequent walking between work areas.

Environmental Considerations:

  • Exposure to typical warehouse noise levels.
  • Occasional work in quieter office settings.
  • Potential exposure to varying weather conditions.
