Position Summary

ITS Logistics has an immediate opening for a Safety Coordinator at our warehouse in Fort Worth, TX. This role is responsible for coordinating all safety-related activities, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, and facilitating the site safety committee.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct new hire orientations and onboarding for regular employees.
  • Coordinate accident and near-miss investigations to determine root cause and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular inspections of safety-related stations, including eye wash, fire extinguishers, emergency lights, first aid cabinets, and safety data sheets.
  • Lead daily walks through the warehouse to inspect and audit processes and procedures.
  • Play a leadership role in the Safety Committee and Emergency Response teams.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits of food-grade products in conjunction with the American Institute of Baking (AIB).
  • Conduct internal safety audits with regulatory agencies, such as IWLA and OSHA.
  • Perform various administrative functions, including warehouse operations, contractor/vendor safety compliance, and regulatory agency coordination.
Training and Development
  • Coordinate and execute all safety-related training for new employees during the onboarding process.
  • Manage safety-related training activities, including safety job analyses, ergonomics, remedial task training, and AIB training.
  • Train warehouse leadership teams on accident and safety investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Develop modified duty functions and train employees recovering from work-related injuries on how to perform those tasks.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of administering safety programs in an industrial environment. Additional requirements include:

  • Five plus years' experience as a safety coordinator.
  • Experience with Behavior-Based Safety Programs.
  • Experience in ergonomics and investigation is strongly desired.
  • Experience with material handling is preferred.
  • Self-motivated problem solver with strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • PC literate with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality rules.
  • First Aid Certified or willingness to be certified within the first 90 days of employment.
