Job Summary:
Vytelle is a global precision livestock company that is revolutionizing the way cattle producers worldwide unlock animal performance. We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement and Logistics Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for buying and shipping all necessary materials to maintain a successful flow of operations within Vytelle's internal and external network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Purchasing from Vendors:
- Build rapport with each vendor and learn the correct points of contact for purchasing to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Documentation Collection:
- Retrieve necessary documentation from labs to attach packing slips as proof of delivery in Business Central.
- Purchase Orders:
- Learn how to accurately execute POs in Business Central to avoid mistakes in item descriptions and units of measurement.
- Finance Cross-Functional Demands:
- Collaborate with the Finance department to develop SOPs and improve the procure-to-pay structure.
- Sales Orders:
- Execute sales orders in the right Business Central environments, ensuring accurate locations and line item descriptions.
- Backorder Scenarios:
- Become familiar with backup vendors to utilize in times of supply chain challenges, consulting with the QC department to verify substitute items.
- Maintaining Updates:
- Communicate with requesting parties through the span of a PO being purchased and delivered, providing regular updates on production and delivery.
- SOP Differentiation for Partner Labs:
- Keep up-to-date with unique SOPs for partner labs, working with the international lab management team to ensure compliance.
- Logistics Documentation Generation:
- Learn to generate various documents required for shipping, including CIs, BOLs, PLs, COOs, etc.
- Quoting to 3PLs:
- Consult with logistics brokerages for shipments, comparing prices and service requirements to make informed decisions.
- Maintaining Active POs:
- Ensure only active POs are reflected in the MRP software, avoiding outdated information.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Administration, or related field.
- Skills: Strong PC skills, including internet and Microsoft Office suite of products, specifically Word and Excel.
- Experience: Two years of work experience in purchasing and/or shipping is preferred.
