Job Responsibilities:

The Collections Associate I plays a crucial role in safeguarding our revenue by engaging with clients regarding overdue accounts and facilitating their payment processes to prevent service interruptions. This involves:

  1. Executing non-payment reminder communications with customers.
  2. Receiving and accurately posting payments to customer accounts.
  3. Informing customers about potential service interruptions due to non-payment.
  4. Maintaining precise records of collections and account statuses.
  5. Collaborating with payment centers to enhance customer satisfaction.
  6. Establishing payment arrangements and ensuring compliance with those agreements.
  7. Monitoring aged balance reports and assisting in the collection of returned checks.
  8. Evaluating customer needs to propose suitable payment solutions within company policies.
  9. Cooperating with other departments to resolve billing or service-related issues.
  10. Carrying out additional tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Mathematical skills for problem-solving.
  • Strong listening, negotiation, and communication abilities.
  • Prior experience in customer service is advantageous.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in PC-based word processing and spreadsheet applications, such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
