Key Responsibilities:
1. Welcome patients, visitors, and students with a warm demeanor; deliver outstanding customer service; assess the nature of inquiries and guide visitors as necessary.
2. Manage and filter incoming phone calls; take comprehensive messages, prioritize them, and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
3. Schedule patient appointments in accordance with departmental protocols.
4. Accurately register patients, confirm insurance details, and secure necessary authorizations.
5. Collect copayments, deductibles, and any outstanding balances during patient check-in; issue receipts and ensure daily reconciliation of collections.
6. Handle daily deposits and maintain petty cash responsibly.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required; additional training or education in the medical field is preferred.
- Previous experience in a front office role within a medical setting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with third-party payer regulations is a plus.
