The Safety and Security Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring a secure and protected environment within the healthcare facility. This position is dedicated to safeguarding the well-being of patients, visitors, and staff by actively monitoring and patrolling the premises to deter incidents of theft, vandalism, and other security threats. The Specialist is responsible for securing, unlocking, and maintaining the safety of the facility's buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to security incidents and provide immediate assistance in situations that may pose a risk to individuals on the property.
  • Conduct regular patrols of the facility and grounds to ensure safety and security.
  • Monitor access points and enforce security protocols to protect the facility.

Qualifications:
  • Unarmed Security Officer certification in the relevant state, to be obtained within the initial employment period.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification required within the initial employment period.
  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification to be obtained within the initial employment period.
  • Preferred educational background includes some college or technical training in law enforcement.

Experience and Skills:
  • Prior experience in security services or law enforcement is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work in potentially hazardous conditions and remain composed in stressful situations.
  • Physical capability to walk, stand, or run in various weather conditions and navigate stairs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain a calm demeanor in challenging circumstances.
