Title: Event Support Technician (Temporary Part-Time)

Position Overview: The primary responsibilities will take place within various venues, including the Clayton Performing Arts Center and the Goins Building Auditorium, along with other locations across the institution's campuses. Occasional travel may be required for events held at different sites.

Appointment Type: Temporary Part-Time

Department: PSCC-Event Services

Key Responsibilities:

30% Deliver technical assistance for both internal and external events, which includes setting up, testing, and dismantling audio and video equipment, operating lighting and sound boards, managing recording devices, and overseeing backstage operations.

20% Assist in the scheduling of college events, which involves data entry into the institution's scheduling software.

20% Support box office functions, including ticket sales and order processing.

20% Collaborate with clients to strategize lighting, sound, media, and staffing needs for events. This may involve attending meetings and rehearsals to assess requirements.

10% Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Note: The institution reserves the right to modify or reassign job duties or consolidate positions as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Effective communication skills to engage with clients and colleagues, fostering a collaborative work environment. Experience in client management is advantageous.

Proficiency in operating sound and light boards in a performance or event setting, familiarity with standard audio/visual equipment, experience with data entry software, troubleshooting audio/video issues, wiring, interpreting wiring diagrams, and understanding audio reinforcement and playback systems, along with basic mechanical knowledge.

Competence in word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. No additional language proficiency is required.

On-the-job training will be provided for sound and light board operations, scheduling software, and ticket sales systems.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience in the performing arts, particularly in theatrical lighting, sound, and stage management.
