Senior Financial Analyst:
Business Partner, Product Development
Job Summary

The Senior Financial Analyst/Business Partner for Product Development will collaborate with the Product Development team to provide essential business insights and support strategic initiatives and projects.

This role will work closely with Product Development leadership to identify Key Performance Indicators by enhancing existing metrics and uncovering business trends through related measurement and analysis.

This position will also assess historical spending patterns, evaluate various scenarios, and assist the business team in understanding potential trade-offs.

With innovation at the core, this role presents numerous opportunities to impact both directly through insightful data analysis and recommendations, and indirectly by influencing processes and policies.

Duties And Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Acts as the primary business partner to Product Development leadership, offering financial outlooks and performance insights, actively participating in cross-functional meetings, and presenting relevant reports and documents to all management levels.

Participates in the preparation of annual financial budgets and updates financial projections as necessary to monitor project performance and outlook.

Conducts variance analysis comparing actuals to budget/forecast, identifying opportunities for headcount, operating, outsourcing, and expense savings, while providing actionable recommendations to Product Development leadership and highlighting potential risks, fostering accountability for achieving forecasted results.

Engages in monthly reviews, delivering financial insights on key drivers of change and ensuring results are clearly understood by decision-makers.

Collaborates with Product Development to propose scalable business solutions related to planning and budgeting.
Serves as a liaison between the business team and accounting department, ensuring transactions are accurately reflected in financial records.
Performs ad hoc financial analyses as requested.
Creates, maintains, and validates reporting tools for Product Development analysis.

Managing multiple projects simultaneously, this role will focus on details while also addressing high-level challenges.

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
Minimum of 5 years' experience in financial analysis.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Strong attention to detail.
Exceptional problem-solving skills, knowledge of accounting principles, documentation skills, research and resolution skills, data analysis, and multitasking abilities.
Ability to prepare comprehensive financial forecasts and accurately represent financial information.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage time and consistently meet deadlines.
Ability to thrive in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment and drive operational initiatives.
Aptitude to take charge, set objectives, lead by influence, and drive results.
