Position Overview

The Office Leader role oversees one or more Ameriprise owned branch locations. This position is accountable for comprehending the local market dynamics and implementing a strategic plan to enhance the branch's profitability. Core responsibilities encompass the expansion of existing advisor practices through strategic coaching on essential revenue drivers, attracting new talent to the organization via effective recruitment and acquisition of external practices, leading with ethical standards, and fostering a robust culture to maximize relationships and resources within the office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute the national recruitment strategy. Attract high-caliber, experienced advisors to your branch. Proactively generate leads within the local area pipeline and manage the complete candidate experience. Develop the branch's unique value proposition and effectively communicate it to potential candidates. Implement onboarding and ramp-up plans that stimulate growth.
  • Drive profitable organic growth of the branch office by focusing on key metrics through active leadership, coaching, and delivering the Ameriprise Client Experience. Regularly review results and provide systematic coaching to advisors in the branch on ongoing business planning, client acquisition, advice, investment solutions, external practice acquisition, and more.
  • Lead the branch with integrity. Conduct front-line supervision to ensure sales activities align with client objectives, goals, and risk tolerance. Anticipate, manage, and resolve risk items to safeguard client interests.
  • Cultivate a strong local office culture, promoting peer learning and camaraderie; achievement orientation; growth and continuous development. Ensure adherence to Ameriprise core values - client focus, unwavering integrity, excellence in all endeavors, and community engagement.
  • Maintain or build a personal wealth management practice serving clients through the Ameriprise Client Experience. Lead by example and serve as a role model for others in client service and practice management.


Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Obtain and maintain necessary registrations to oversee broker/dealer operations and develop advisor training.
  • Active FINRA Series 7 or ability to obtain within 150 days.
  • Active FINRA Series 24, or 9/10 or ability to obtain in 90 days.
  • Active State Securities Agent Registration (S63 or S66) or ability to obtain within 150 days.
  • Active State IAR registration (S65 or S66) or ability to obtain within 150 days.
  • Active Life and Accident/Health insurance license or ability to obtain within 150 days.
  • Demonstrated success in driving business growth.
  • Proven leadership abilities and capacity to motivate an organization to achieve results.
  • Documented sales success with a proven ability to acquire clients and close business.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented.
  • Ability to implement a strategic playbook to drive outcomes.
  • Strong presentation capabilities.
  • P&L expense management and the ability to analyze data and reports to identify business opportunities.
  • Knowledgeable and capable of developing networks within the community.
  • Excellent compliance history.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree and/or relevant industry designations preferred (e.g., CFP).
