This role is pivotal in managing financial aid processes and delivering expert counseling and support to students and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process financial aid applications and provide guidance to students and families regarding financial aid options.
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of college enrollment management, including admissions, registration, and student services.
- Exhibit exceptional customer service skills when interacting with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Utilize strong communication abilities, including active listening and professional writing, to convey information effectively.
- Employ various computer applications, including student information systems and financial aid management tools.
- Provide insightful counseling to students regarding financial aid policies and procedures.
- Accurately perform and document financial aid calculations and award notifications.
- Exercise discretion and independent judgment while adhering to established guidelines.
- Address and resolve issues related to student aid and processing discrepancies.
- Lead projects, demonstrate initiative, and research solutions to challenges.
- Collaborate effectively within a team to achieve departmental objectives.
- Engage respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds, showcasing cross-cultural communication skills.
- Prior experience in a Financial Aid Office.
- Familiarity with Ellucian (BANNER) or similar student information systems.
- Experience with Salesforce or comparable customer relationship management software.
- Knowledge of automated financial aid systems, including COD, NSLDS, FAA Access, and CPS.
- Experience with document imaging technologies.
- Proficiency in the Google suite of office applications (Docs, Sheets, Drive, etc.).
