Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Construction Assistant Project Manager to support the Project Manager in overseeing mechanical construction initiatives across diverse markets, including Semiconductor, Healthcare, Higher Education, Data Centers, and Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of relevant construction experience, ideally within a mechanical contracting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

The following duties are essential to this role, with additional responsibilities likely assigned as needed:

  • Assist the Project Manager in ensuring that projects adhere to quality standards and are completed on schedule and within budget;
  • Collaborate with the Project Manager to define a comprehensive scope of work;
  • Enhance skills in reviewing technical drawings and specifications to aid in the preparation of project timelines, change orders, and environmental controls;
  • Monitor project expenditures and labor costs, promptly notifying the Project Manager of any issues;
  • Prepare, maintain, and present detailed logs and reports using computer-generated data;
  • Maintain consistent communication and collaboration with Project Managers;
  • Facilitate internal communications with the construction team and support functions, as well as with general contractors or construction managers for assigned projects;
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

To excel in this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in Construction Project Engineering or a related field, preferably with a Mechanical Contractor;
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering, or a minimum of 6 years of combined experience in Field Installation and Project Management within the Mechanical Industry;
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in fulfilling essential duties effectively;
  • Experience in project scheduling, productivity analysis, and project cost control, with a solid understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems;
  • Familiarity with commercial and industrial construction processes and testing protocols for HVAC systems, with LEED certification being advantageous;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project, Access, PowerPoint) and experience with Project Management and Accounting Software preferred;
  • Willingness to travel frequently to various construction project sites.

Effective communication in English is essential, with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders, including customers, employees, and contractors.

Physical Demands:

This role requires the ability to perform essential functions, including regular sitting, seeing, talking, and hearing. Employees must be able to use hands for handling tools and controls, walk, reach, climb, and occasionally lift up to twenty-five pounds. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

The work environment may involve long periods of sitting at a computer, as well as travel to field locations. Employees may encounter outdoor conditions, including exposure to various weather elements and construction site hazards. The noise level may vary from moderate to loud.
