About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer Intern to join our team at Southland Industries Inc. As a Project Engineer Intern, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including HVAC design and build, mechanical engineering, and construction engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support field labor and provide feedback on labor performance
  • Procure equipment and subcontractors, and manage the submittal process
  • Coordinate design and trade activities, and assist in budget analysis and cost projections
  • Develop project schedules and assist in the development of project plans
  • Communicate effectively with engineers, vendors, and suppliers to procure and manage equipment and materials
  • Assist in the preparation of Requests for Information (RFI) and track labor feedback
Requirements
  • Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of HVAC design and system operations
  • Ability to read mechanical and plumbing drawings and identify work installed
