SUMMARY

We are in search of a Mechanical Project Engineer to join our dynamic team of engineers and coordinators. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed AutoCAD drawings and will thrive in an independent work environment. Key responsibilities include defining project scopes, conducting site surveys, performing engineering calculations, and providing technical support throughout the construction phase. The Mechanical Project Engineer will also oversee the implementation of an effective Quality Control system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Executing all Mechanical Construction Project Engineering functions accurately and efficiently on-site;
  • Collaborating with the Project Manager to ensure comprehensive scope definition;
  • Conducting project estimating (Take-Off & Analysis), scheduling (manpower allocation), managing RFIs (Requests for Information), preparing submittal packages, and overseeing contractor-provided submittal data;
  • Managing monthly productivity assessments and facilitating communication between the office and job site regarding material deliveries;
  • Assisting in data entry for forms, technical analysis, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems, piping, and plumbing equipment;
  • Maintaining consistent communication and collaboration with Project Managers;
  • Adhering to all company policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
QUALIFICATIONS

To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are preferred:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering, or a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in the Mechanical Industry;
  • High School diploma or GED is required;
  • Understanding of the construction industry and contract documentation;
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations;
  • Experience in construction and engineering calculations;
  • Knowledge of estimating, construction costs, scheduling, purchasing, and engineering principles, along with a basic understanding of accounting and cost control procedures.
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel;
  • Experience with estimating software is desirable;
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling software, such as Primavera, is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical requirements for this position include regular sitting, seeing, talking, and hearing. Employees may need to use hands for various tasks and may occasionally lift up to twenty-five (25) pounds.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Employees can expect to work in an office setting with occasional travel to field locations. The work environment may involve exposure to outdoor conditions and varying noise levels.
