Role Overview

The Pricing Data Science and Data Engineering team is globally distributed and focuses on creating scalable, high-performance AI/ML solutions. Our goal is to ensure that Coupang offers competitive pricing in a personalized shopping environment that delights our customers.

We develop cutting-edge machine learning and deep learning models for real-time product mapping across millions of items, as well as statistical sampling and inference for extensive testing on numerous product pairs. Our team manages end-to-end auto mapping model services and collaborates closely with Product Management, Operations, and Engineering.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive scientific excellence by applying state-of-the-art Computer Vision and multi-modality models to tackle complex business challenges.
  • Design robust applications and ensure the highest quality architecture for product mapping systems.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and business stakeholders to understand challenges and devise effective solutions.
  • Lead critical projects aimed at resolving intricate business issues and align with stakeholders and fellow scientists.
  • Develop roadmaps and vision for an auto mapping system that scales with business growth and achieves human parity in performance.
  • Work with other technical teams at Coupang to enhance service extensibility and unlock innovative opportunities.


Qualifications

  • PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, or Deep Learning.
  • Over 8 years of experience applying CV and deep learning techniques to address real-world business problems.
  • Demonstrated research and publication record.
  • Strong communication skills with proficiency in English.


Compensation and Benefits

Our compensation reflects the labor market across various US regions. Your base salary is just one component of your total compensation package. The salary for this position ranges from $171,000 to $351,000 per year, depending on geographic location and individual qualifications.
